Book IRCTC Rail Tickets Via IRCTC Website / Application
Now easily book the train tickets by using the IRCTC Website or application. If you are having doubts about booking the ticket via online procedure then just simply follo0w the steps explained below.
First, open the irctc.co.in URL on your desktop or open the IRCTC app on your phone and then after login into your account. In order to log in, the account one has to enter the user email id and password on the login page.
Then from the IRCTC homepage click on the "Plan my journey" option.
Thereafter select the journey date, destination, train, coach type, number of seats and after that click on the"continue" option to proceed further.
Then after that use the existing passenger list/ add passengers.
At last, confirm the booking. On confirming the booking payment page will get open from there choose the payment method. One can make the payment by busing credit card, debit card, UPI, phone pay, google, Paytm, etc. After that enter the payment details and proceed further once the payment procedure will get completed you will receive a message and an email on the registered phone number and email id, respectively.
The message and an email that you will receive will be your e-ticket and it will contain passenger name, date of birth, seat number, coach number, date of journey, the timing of the train, class, etc. Do not delete e-ticket message from your phone as on the day of journey TT will check the same ticket, if the ticket will be not available on your phone then he/she can take the legal action against you.
How to cancel IRCTC Rail Tickets
The booked e-tickets via the IRCTC portal can be easily canceled till the duration of time preparation. If you don't know how do cancel the IRCTC e-ticket then just simply follow the directions provided below.
At first, open the IRCTC official website i.e. irctc.co.in on a mobile phone or desktop.
Then after that visit the "Booked Tickets" page by clicking on the link related to that.
Thereafter select the ticket which you want to cancel.
After that click on the "cancel" option.
On clicking the cancellation option your ticket will get canceled and cancellation message will send by the IRCTC on the registered number. The curtain charges may get deducted on canceling the e-ticket.
Partial cancellation of ticket
If in case your ticket is partially booked means in waiting is there, then do take the print out of the e-ticket slip as the softcopy of the waiting ticket is usually not considered by the TT. On cancellation of the tatkal book ticket, money is not refunded.
What is PNR Status?
PNR number gives you data about the booking status of your IRCTC Rail Ticket and other details like the seat, coach and train number of your booked ticket.
